Named after the Civil War hero and founder of Memorial Day, General John A. Logan, the neighborhood of Logan Square centers around a green at the intersection of Kedzie and Logan Boulevards and Milwaukee Avenue. The area was established by immigrants in the early 1900’s, who came to Chicago eager to build their fortunes. The beautifully built and well-maintained mansions that line the boulevards radiating from Logan Square are a testament to their success. Each mansion represents a unique blend of New World styles and European Victorian and Classic touches, making for an eclectic mix of architecture and history. Spacious bungalows, townhomes, condos and apartment buildings line the streets leading out from the boulevards.
